I'm Thankful for Protection

Today, as I was walking across a local parking lot,  a car started backing out just as I was walking behind it.  Fortunately, I saw it and scurried out of the way just in time.    As I continued my  jaunt to the car,  I was reminded of God's protection.   In my life, there have been many times that God has protected me.    At times the protection was very obvious and real.    Other times, the protection was not so obvious but just as real.    I am thankful that God is always taking care of us  when we know it and even when we don't.

Keeping Us Safe

When my daughter was home, she drove our car to visit a friend. When she got home, she informed me that the brakes on the car did not seem to be working right. So, I took the car to the garage, and had the mechanic check it out. Since we have not had to change the breaks in a long while, I was sure that I would be paying for breaks and maybe springs or shocks. I was calling the car squeaky. After about an hour, the mechanic returned and said that the back breaks were frozen. We had been driving the car with only the front breaks. Yow! I was prepared for him to say they were worn, but not that they were not working at all. I am thankful that, with all of the extra driving, God was protecting us even when we did not know, we needed protecting. Yes, I can recount many times when I know that God was protecting me and my family; bears jumping the median, driving too fast on a dirt road, and driving with no back...

What Has God Done

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind .     Psalms 107:21 Have you ever stopped and thought about everything the Lord had done?    Wow!    I think If I were going to list them all,  It would take more time than I have,  more ink than I could acquire  and more space than I could imagine.    If we started with the creation of the world,   God was there speaking things into existence.    As we read through the Bible,  we see God at work in the Old Testament and the New Testament.    He saved Noah from a devastating flood;  He gave children to the childless.   He provided salvation for us.    But there are so many other wondrous deeds.   I n fact, God has done wondrous deeds in each of our lives.     He leads us.  ...
